Solitude, Scripture, Fellowship
Deep Woods Immersion is a Christian weekend retreat intended to give participants space to commune with the Father, rest in the work of the Savior, and discern the leading of the Holy Spirit. It's a coached experience that invites participants into a practice of God-focused, Scripture-centered solitude and contemplation, coupled with times of group reflection and fellowship. The goal is for participants to come away and personally fellowship with God in a guided and supportive environment, and the weekend introduces or strengthens the spiritual practices of solitude and contemplation that can be integrated into the regular rhythms of life. Participants frequently cite Deep Woods Immersion as one of the most beneficial retreats they've ever experienced.
In Partnership with MVCBC
Launched in 2022 under the direction of Pastor Dennis Fulkerson as a ministry of Mt. Vernon Community Bible Church, Deep Woods Immersion weekend retreats have encouraged and equipped a number of participants in the MVCBC community. In partnership with Cypress Ministries, our desire is to customize and offer Deep Woods Immersion retreats to other groups, ministries, and teams. This will include publishing an online Deep Woods Immersion Field Manual and establishing Cypress Hollow Iowa as a dedicated location for Deep Woods Immersion and similar retreat ministries.

The Deep Woods weekend was deeply impactful. We need to do this as often as humanly possible.
