Our Plan
Launched in 2024 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Cypress Ministries is in the process of developing and executing plans to establish our retreat ministries. Looking ahead, we anticipate a three- to four-year timeline to become fully operational.
Deep Woods Immersion
2025
- Continue to operate Deep Woods Immersion through the ministry of Mount Vernon Community Bible Church.
- Pilot a Deep Woods Immersion weekend exclusively for women.
2026
- Pursue opportunities to expand Deep Woods Immersion beyond Community Bible Church.
- Publish a book on personal and group solitude retreat ministry.
2027
- Publish the Deep Woods Immersion Field Manual.
- Establish Deep Woods Immersion at its permanent home, Cypress Hollow Iowa.
Cypress Hollow Iowa
2026
- Acquire a property in Eastern Iowa suitable for development into Cypress Hollow Iowa.
- Begin to develop the property and prepare it for ministry use.
2027
- Launch a capital campaign for development of the Cypress Hollow property.
- Host several Deep Woods Immersion retreats.
2028
- Continue development of Cypress Hollow Iowa.
- Launch the full suite of retreat ministries.
- Establish the Project Groundwork internship program.
